What to check under the bonnet.

Throttle cable condition. if frayed replace. |

Brake fluid |
Check fluid level and fixings for servo etc. brake pipes for corrosion. |

Water |

Check there is plenty of water in the resevoir. no water means washers don't work ( Fail) |

On some vehicles these can be inspected under bonnet other vehicles have to be checked from below. |

Check for perrishing by bending the hose with your fingers. any cracks visible replace. |

Damage
Distortion cracks
Distorted (bent) bead rim.

A mounting is missing or damaged so it does not support the system
There is a major leak
The system is excessively noisy
The Evil Rust again

Fuel filler cap must fasten securely
Any Problem which could cause fuel to leak out.
The seal in the cap must not be torn, deteriorated or missing
